Spring? Riding? Yeah...right!

Well, I thought I would get back in the saddle today. The arena snow finally melted and dried up. EB texted me with the good news yesterday and I was all set to go out and longe/ride Hugo this evening.

See? Doesn't it look just wonderful?
Then I woke up, and to my horror realized that I forgot we were hosting out of town guests over this evening for my annual St. Patrick's Day dinner. Mind you, I did not forget about St. Patrick's day, I just forgot all about the dinner.

More snow today...
However, it was not to be regardless. As I type this we have 1" of fresh snow accumulation and it is forecasted to be a total of 3" today. That means the arena is off limits again anyway. I have a sneaking suspicion that this year is going to be one of those in which we have snow through June. So, I guess I'll just toast to my misery with a coldish Guinness and merrily enjoy my delicious corned beef, cabbage, and irish soda bread feast.

I used to like daylight savings time...

It's not so much that I don't like daylight savings time, but I am no longer a fan of the time change. I have always relished in the later daylight providing for more evening riding. So, perhaps they could just stick with daylight savings time and never have it end. That would be OK with me.

If you would like to hear my baby/toddler related rant about it, click here: http://suddenlysettled.blogspot.com/2014/03/why-daylight-savings-time-blows.html

Basically, I envy everyone in Arizona right now that doesn't have to deal with the nonsense that ensues when the time change happens TWICE a year. Ugh. On the bright side though, there is more daylight in the evening now, so I can start riding Hugo again for EB. I'm going to try for twice a week, although I am sure that some work stuff will occasionally get in the way. Because yeah, when you work from home and are a stay at home mom...you work in the evening. A lot. That is the reality. But some riding will be better than none, so I am excited to get on the big bay boy again. Once the snow melts that is....
